The art and practice of planning and showcasing ideas and experiences with visual and textual content. Graphic design can be used by companies to simulate and sell products through advertising, by websites to communicate complicated information in a digestible way through infographics, or by businesses to create an identity through branding, among other things.
In other terms, graphic design conveys certain ideas or messages in a visual way. These graphics can be as simple as a business logo, or as complex as page layouts on a website.
Good web design isn’t abstract. With other types of design, like figures or sticker design, a lot of what constitutes "good" is up to the viewer’s taste. With web design, the line between "good" and "not good" is much more specified. A well-designed website is a website that completely creates the experience your visitor is looking for.
Graphic design is everywhere, which means there are a broad range of graphic design areas and specializations. Each type of graphic design needs certain skills and techniques.
The principles of graphic design include line, color, shape, space, texture, typography, scale, dominance and emphasis, and balance. Together, they work to create graphically appealing work that conveys a message.
Lines are seen in nearly every design, whether they are straight, curved, thin, thick, dashed, long, or short. Lines attach any two points. They are useful for spliting space as well as directing the viewer’s attention in a specific direction.
The scale and size of objects, shapes, and other elements can make specific parts of a design more dynamic. Scale can be used to create a graphical hierarchy. Using scale, Graphic Designers can create focal points and highlight significant areas.
Color is the most important and trivial element of a design. It can create effect right away, and it is noticed by everyone, even those without a design background.
Shape, also known as form, is the blend of lines. Shapes can be circles, squares, rectangles, triangles, or other conceptual forms. Mostly designs include at least one shape. Identical to color, shapes have different associations.
Textures are becoming more trivially used, replacing single-color backgrounds. Textures can combines paper, stone, concrete, brick, and fabric.
When working with text, Graphic Designers need to consider the relationship between how text feels like. Typography is the art of forming text in legible and engaging ways.
